Today we were awakened early (5:30 a.m.) by John, to finish making our galley of type. We worked through the startup process of the machine, and later after lunch, we again took off the bridge, wedge, and the mold, and emptied, took apart and cleaned the pump. I am hoping we will get to proof and correct the type tomorrow, as I like to see the text in hand.
We took a bike ride after dinner along one of the dikes, lined with trees and saw the reflected trees and sunset in the water. This little village of Philippine is quite pleasing, with everything within walking or biking distance. There is a tiny flock of sheep in a backyard nearby, lots of fruit and flower gardens and people grow decorative espaliered trees in their front yards.
