July 22,
We worked all day, starting out by my beginning on a capitol letter D. I am learning how to cut away the metal evenly. We worked to adjust the microscope lens with the help of Nelly’s son, Stephane, so that it works for my height.
In the evening, Nelly, Stephan and I went to dinner in Walpole NH and had dinner with Ray Ruseckas(an artist friend) and his companion Cynthia Reeves and friends. Lots of conversation in both French and English, I sat between a French woman and a man from New Zealand, Donald, who was very knowledgeable about gardening and imaginative ideas about life. The woman spoke French to Nelly, so I got to talk about gardening for a while which is another of my passions.
